Jailbreaking
Apple:
As designed by Apple, the iPhone OS ensures that the iPhone and iPod touch operate reliably. Some customers have not understood the risks of installing software that makes unauthorized modifications to the iPhone OS (“jailbreaking”) on their iPhone or iPod touch.
Those “customers” understood the risks, alright. They just decided to ignore them out of impatience...

Exactly
PC user: The thing is, for 90% of people, a $600 Dell does exactly what they want.
Mac user: That's the point. Apple doesn't make machines for the 90%.

First Week Syndrome
Okay, so once again I am back after an unexplained absence. I like to call the reason for this “first week syndrome” - the first week of school after a long holiday break.
In this case, after four weeks, things were are little ‘interesting’…

First test of the full-HD video from my Canon IXUS 110IS. Crummy, because I have basically never videoed anything, full stop. But I’ll get better.
[Tip: use the HD option for a better experience!]

The iPhone 3G S
An essay by Tom Baker.
I haven’t used an iPhone 3G S yet. I can quite easily imagine what it will be like, though; I’ve used the iPhone 3G running the 3.0 software extensively.
My vision of the 3G S experience was easy to create. This is down to the fact that the 3G S is nearly identical, hardware-wise, to its predecessor, the iPhone 3G.
While some minor hardware changes have, admittedly,...

Glyphboard 2.0 →
mrgan:
Just in time for today’s release of iPhone OS 3.0 with its oh-so-handy pasteboard, I’ve updated a little project of mine, Glyphboard. It’s a sort of keyboard which lets you type glyphs not available on any of the standard iPhone keyboards. These glyphs include , ☂, ☺, ✔, and even ♫.

To Purchase an iPhone Now
This conversation takes place about a week previous to today:
Non-savvy friend: I went to Vodafone to pick up an iPhone yesterday.
Me: That was foolish.
Friend: I know.
Me: What?
Friend: The Vodafone guy said he KNOWS a new iPhone with video, front camera, 32GB, removable battery, and $100 cheaper is coming out next week.
Me: Oh dear.
Ignorant and stupid on the part of the retailer to mislead people's hopes. But, it might not be too far off.
